Pacific Steel Group Awarded $110 Million in Damages in High-Stakes Antitrust Case

Congratulations to the trial teams at Quinn Emanuel and Cohen Milstein on securing a victory for their client, Pacific Steel Group (PSG), in a high-stakes antitrust case against Texas rebar giant Commercial Metals Co. (CMC).

After less than 3 hours of deliberations, a unanimous nine-member jury found CMC liable for multiple antitrust violations that prohibited PSG, a San Diego-based steel fabricator, from effectively competing in the market. The jurors awarded PSG $74 million in lost profits and $36 million in additional damages, which was the full amount sought by PSG’s counsel.

Congratulations to William Price, Rachael McCracken, and Steig Olson of Quinn and Daniel McCuaig, Nathaniel Regenold, and Jared Dummitt of Cohen Milstein on the complete victory for PSG.

DOAR was proud to assist the trial teams with graphics consulting and design and evidence presentation.
